EXPOSE' ON "THE UFO REPORT.......SIGHTINGS"
FIRST RELEASED 1990
"The following program deals with a controversial subject. The theories expressed are not the only possible interpretation. The viewer is invited to make a judgment based on all available information."
Such was the introduction of the FOX network special "The UFO Report". As far as I'm concerned, their theories were definitely "not the only interpretation". In fact, I didn't see a thing in the entire hour that made me a UFO believer. All of the evidence was full of loopholes. The witnesses testimony wouldn't stand up and anything which they called "evidence" was only circumstantial. Now I will take you through the "evidence", piece by piece.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FIRST KIND
The commentator, Tim White began this first section by stating that 10,000 UFO sightings were reported in 1991,WORLDWIDE. Now let me say this. If I was to report UFOs every time I saw a mysterious light in the sky, I would be filing a report every six months. However, rather than running to my phone, I find that if I take a little time to study the object, it always turns out to be an airplane, helicopter or other natural phenomenon. Now, how many people are on this planet? 5 billion or so? So ,in other words, 1 out of 500,000 reported a "sighting" last year, or ,in other words, on the average, one fanatic in a city of 500,000. They also said that sightings have increased over the past 30 years. SO WHAT? So has drug addiction and alcoholism! So am I now to become a UFO convert because of the hallucinations of mad men?
All right, just what did these people CLAIM to see? Red light, whooshing sound, a light changing size or color. Well, I've seen multicolored lights on airplanes. Haven't you? When the planes get closer, the lights get larger. BIG THRILL! Do you want to hear a whooshing sound? Just go near some willows on a windy day. And guess what. If you are the 1 in 500,000 who happens to be near a willow on a windy day WHILE looking at an airplane approaching with multicolored lights, you may be an eligible candidate for A UFO OBSERVER!
WHY, you say, would anyone report such a thing? Well, the quote of the Tim White, might be a clue. "Does the publicity of one person seeing a UFO spark the imagination of others who are eager to believe?" I say YES, an overactive imagination, drug induced hallucination, or publicity seeking seems to be the most obvious to me. So to have a "close encounter" might be the "in" thing to do. Oh you say there's more evidence? Be patient. I'll get to all of it. Cave art in Australia? The pictures on the cave looked more like skeletons than "aliens" to me. But what about the 13th century painting? Looked like a good imagination to me. The vehicle in the drawing wouldn't get off of the ground! It wasn't even symmetrical! Oh , eye witness accounts?
According to the report, in 1947, Kenneth Arnold showed a DRAWING which looked to me to be very much like a STEALTH aircraft! Then there was the weather balloon in 1957 which was supposedly a government cover up! Then in June 1966 astronaut
